Katie and Matt’s engagement

So happy that these two were able to come up for their engagement session on such a beautiful evening.  I had a couple of new locations in mind that I had never stopped to photograph, and they were more than willing to go along with my plan.  The bus looked like a tetanus shot waiting to happen, but lucky for us we are all up on our vaccinations!  Katie and Matt were both fun and easy to work with and I am excited for their wedding this summer!  Can’t wait to work with you both again.

Little Colby…can’t call him baby Colby anymore!

It has been fun to document Colby’s first year of life.  He keeps getting bigger and more interactive.  Be sure to take a look at the photos where he is in the toy box, for a few minutes he started babbling at us like he was giving a little speech.  It was so adorable!  He is a really sweet little guy and when it came time for his cake, he took his time eating all of the strawberry slices on top before diving in.  What a nice boy to share with his grandma’s dog too…you know what they say “sharing is caring!”  Looking forward to photographing him again in the fall.

Golf with a couple of Ricky Fowlers…

On Easter we were blessed with some great weather and the Easter bunny brought the boys a couple of fun new golfing clothes.  Meet Saturday and Sunday Ricky Fowler (for those of you who don’t follow golf he always dresses in very bright colors).  The hats they are wearing were made by Puma specifically for his line of clothing.  Wish I could have found them some matching colored pants as well.  It was a great day, we started off with a scavenger hunt for the boys at the house, followed by brunch with my mom, dad, and little sister and then headed out to the course to play 18 holes in the sunshine.  It was the perfect day!  A couple of fun things from the golfing trip…look a few photos down and you will notice my dad’s mouth wide open because he is saying something to my mom right in the middle of Matt’s backswing.  Then you will notice the boys holding up the peace sign, this was for their grandpa’s benefit so that he knew when to be silent (I wish we had some QUIET signs, it would have been hilarious).  Then grandpa decided to become SUPER CADDIE and carry the clubs for both of the boys.  At least they didn’t have to pay this time, guess it was a free service on Easter Sunday.  Thanks dad, you are always good for a laugh!

Rainy day golf…

We are not what you would call a fair weather golfing family.  When we get a membership somewhere, we use it.  So, this winter, rain, snow, shine, or wind we were out on the golf course trying to get in our 18 holes.  I think we wore rain pants more this year than I have my entire life.  It didn’t seem to slow the boys down though and a dry golfer is a happy one.  Lucky for us the sun started to come out toward the end of the round and Jordan even got to use his sunglasses.  Looking forward to summer and the retiring of the rain gear!  A huge thanks to the Bellingham Golf and Country Club for doing such a great job of keeping the course in playing shape through the winter months.

Exactly how I feel about canvases…

I came across this image today while I was on the web and wanted to share it with you all because it is exactly how I feel about canvases (presented in an amazing way by Skye of Work of Heart Photography).  She posted it on her inspirational blog for child photographers which you can find by clicking here.  Now you might be thinking to yourself that a 30 x 40 inch canvas would be too big, but let me tell you, I have a 40 x 60 inch canvas hanging in my house and it is my favorite piece of art.  The biggest thing that you need to keep in mind when ordering is that this is a personal piece of art and it is worth every penny.  Each time someone new comes in to my home it is the first thing that they comment on.  Don’t be afraid to make a statement!

Today and tomorrow only: purchase any canvas 30 x 30 inches or larger and get a second canvas of the same or smaller size for just $50!  They can even be from different images.  This is a great deal to get two canvases for yourself or one for you and one as a gift for mother’s day?  Don’t delay, offer expires at 8pm on April 27th, 2012.
